Photograph of Maelor Evans in Burma, 1945 Maelor Evans of Penpompren, Trawsgoed, Aberystwyth served in Burma during the Second World War. He worked on the Burmese railways specifically in Meiktila and Kalewe, safeguarding the railways from the Dacoits, the local guerrilla gang. He fought side by side with the Ghurkhas and didn't return from Burma until 1947.
